President Obama has been 'missing in action' during the negotiations of this huge economic stimulus 'steamer trunk' in recent days. No one is in control, no one in Congress knows what to do and no one want to be responsible for a bill that will set America's economy back 50 years!
Obama found time to address his followers. He wrote in an op-ed in the Washington Post that inaction could lead the economy into an irreversible decline, "Because each day we wait to begin the work of turning our economy around, more people lose their jobs, their savings and their homes," he wrote. "And if nothing is done, this recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse." He has also made time for the news circuit "The time for talk is over. The time for action is now."
Scaring people into making a bad decision is not a sign of a good leader. He still believes he can say anything and people will believe him, like 62% of the voters did during the election.
It has just come to light there is a provision of the act that actually allows for funds to be given by the federal government in the form of grants for renovation of existing colleges and universities. "But there's a specific prohibition on two things," an attorney explains. "One, if the university itself is a religiously based or faith-based institution, it does not qualify. And if the facility that is being renovated allows religious worship to take place, it also does not qualify." Sounds ripe for a lawsuit.
For every billion added by the Democrats for pork projects that will not stimulate our current economy, Republicans are trying to counter with tax breaks to lend some relief to over-burdened taxpayers.
President Obama isn't walking his talk. The Democrats control Congress and they are out of control, like kids in a candy shop finding ways to spend our tax dollars on every pet project they can think of!
